What happened?!
K so all transfer I'd
been thinking that I would be transferred back into a Spanish area soon, buuuut
yesterday at church I was really confused because I felt like I would be seeing
these ward members again, soooo.....
I knew that I would be
staying here. We are both staying here! That's totes redonks! (AKA Totally
Ridiculous)
I'm happy, because this
is a great area, but I must admit I miss Spanish work. But it's all good, I
know it's the will of the Lord.
Also, my entire district
has stayed the same! I really love these elders, they are really awesome.
Also this has been a
good transfer. My goal was to find new investigators, since the previous two
transfers, none had been found. We have found quite a few and we are really
busy now! Life is good.
This week we met Dxxx,
who is related to some members in our ward. She is an older lady who's very
nice. When we were teaching her about the restoration, we asked her to read the
First Vision out loud, and she started crying. She immediately knew that it was
true and told us that this was an answer to her prayers. We've met with her
several times since then and she is seriously so solid! Her baptism is
currently set for September 10th, and she literally wanted to be baptized right
away. She believes everything that we tell her. We told her a little about the
Word of Wisdom and she was ready to give up tea right then and there. She is so
awesome!
We met with Jxxx and
Rxxx last Monday and she's been praying about a baptismal date, and she says
she's thinking December. I really hope that she will go through with that,
because they didn't go to church yesterday, and they're really busy with work and
school. I know that she has received so many revelations that the church is
true, but what good does that knowledge do if she doesn't act upon it?
We met with Rxxx, and
dang it's just becoming more and more clear that he was NOT ready for baptism.
Like, at all. So it's good that it's still being delayed. Unfortunately the
knowledge that he has about Joseph Smith has been coming from the internet, and
he just doesn't understand Joseph Smith's role or anything. So I told him that
he needs to trust in God more than in man, therefore he shouldn't listen to
what people say, he shouldn't even take our word for it, but he really truly
needs to ask God if Joseph Smith was a prophet. He can get all wisdom from God
and know it to be true since God does not lie. After that lesson, Sister Miller
told me that she was really impressed with my boldness with him. I've never
considered myself to be bold or courageous, but my patriarchal blessing says
that I am blessed with courage and I guess it is true!
Lxxx got baptized on Saturday. I didn't get to go since I'm
currently living like an hour away from Ceres, and President doesn't like us
traveling since we need to be working all the time. I was really sad that I
didn't get to go but I am so happy that he was able to get baptized. I really
hope that his mom also gets baptized soon, and I'm sure that she was
influenced by his decision to get dunked in the water!
So this is random but
apparently Adele has a new song named "Hello" which I've heard people
sing but I still haven't heard the actual original song. But anyways a member
showed us a parody of the song by missionaries and it is so funny! Check it

This week before district
meeting, I thought it was weird when we got to church and saw that the elders
had gotten there before us, since we saw their car in the parking lot. They are
always late, so I was like, "What's going on?" Then when we went into
the church building and two elders led us into the gym, and on the stage we saw
our district leader dressed like this (see the pictures). Those elders are
crazy!

¿Y qué pasó?
Pues bien, desde que llegué a este lugar me la he
pasado pensando que me volverían a mandar a un área en español, pero resulta
que ayer en la Iglesia me sentí un poco confundida porque tuve la sensación de
que pasaría más tiempo entre los miembros de este barrio.
La cosa es que supe que me quedaría aquí, ¡de hecho
me quedaré con mi compañera! ¡Me parece “totes redonks”! (Algo así como: “se me
hace irónico”)
Estoy contenta, ya que esta área está muy bien,
aunque reconozco que extraño trabajar en español. Todo está bien, porque sé que
es la voluntad del Señor.
Además, todo mi distrito quedará igual. La verdad
que les he agarrado cariño a los élderes, porque son muy buena onda.
Este traslado ha sido muy bueno. Mi meta era buscar
a nuevos investigadores, ya que en los dos últimos cambios no se había
encontrado a ninguno. Sin embargo, nosotras hemos encontrado bastantes y la
verdad es que tenemos mucho trabajo. Las cosas están bien.
Esta semana conocimos a una señora que es familia de
unos miembros del barrio. Es una persona ya mayor y es muy agradable. La cosa
es que cuando le estábamos dando la charla de la Restauración, le pedimos que
leyera en voz alta la parte de la Primera Visión y al hacerlo comenzó a llorar.
Ella supo de inmediato que es un relato verdadero y nos dijo que era una
respuesta a sus oraciones. La hemos visitado varias veces desde entonces y en
serio que se le siente mucha fuerza. Su bautismo está programado para el 10 de septiembre
y prácticamente se quería bautizar luego luego. Ella cree todo lo que le
decimos. Le hablamos un poco de la Palabra de Sabiduría y en el momento
manifestó que estaba dispuesta a dejar el té. ¡Es muy linda!
También el lunes pasado visitamos a esta pareja que
hemos estado viendo y la muchacha ha estado orando para saber cuándo se tiene
que bautizar. Dice que lo quiere hacer en diciembre. De veras que espero que lo
pueda hacer, porque ayer no fueron a la capilla y entre trabajo y escuela
llevan una vida muy ajetreada. Sé que ella ha recibido varias revelaciones en
cuanto a la veracidad de la Iglesia, pero, ¿de qué le sirve ese conocimiento si
no hace nada al respecto?
También hablamos con Rxxx y la verdad es que
¡híjole!… cada vez se hace más claro que NO estaba listo para bautizarse, para
nada. Así que por una parte está bien que se esté retrasando. Lamentablemente,
las cosas que sabe de José Smith las ha leído en la internet y simplemente no
le cae el veinte de la función que tuvo el Profeta ni de nada. Yo le dije que
tiene que confiar más en Dios que en los hombres, y que por lo tanto no debe
hacer caso a lo que dicen los demás, ni siquiera a lo que le decimos nosotras,
sino que realmente tiene que preguntar a Dios si José Smith fue un profeta. Él
puede recibir sabiduría de Dios y saber que esto es verdad, ya que Dios no
miente. Después de la lección, la Hna. Miller me dijo que estaba impresionada
con mi atrevimiento. La verdad que nunca me he considerado una persona audaz
para hablar, pero mi bendición patriarcal dice que sería bendecida con valor,
entonces supongo que hay algo de cierto en eso.
El sábado se bautizó un muchacho de Ceres al que le
enseñamos. La cosa fue que no pude ir porque estoy como a una hora de distancia
de Ceres y el presidente no quiere que andemos de aquí para allá porque tenemos
que dedicarnos a trabajar. Me puse bastante triste de no poder ir, pero a la
vez estoy contenta de que se haya podido bautizar. También espero que su mamá
se bautice pronto, y estoy segura de que la decisión de él tendrá influencia en
ella para que se aviente al agua.
Esto no tiene que ver con nada, pero parece que
Adele sacó una nueva canción que se llama “Hello” y he escuchado a una que otra
persona cantándola, ¡pero todavía no he oído la versión original. La cosa es
que un miembro nos enseñó una parodia de la canción en la que la cantan unos

Esta semana antes de la reunión de distrito, me
pareció raro cuando llegamos a la capilla y vi que los élderes habían llegado
antes que nosotras, porque su coche estaba en el estacionamiento. Ellos siempre
llegan tarde, por eso me pregunté qué estaba pasando. Entonces entramos al
edificio y dos élderes nos llevaron al salón cultural. En el escenario estaban
otros dos élderes vestidos así (vean las fotos). ¡Esos élderes están bien locos!
